Healing Hearts is a 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with special needs. We aim to address social and recreational needs of children, teens and adults with a variety of neuro-developmental disabilities. Healing Hearts currently serves children, teens and adults in lower Fairfield County.

Classes are open to children, teens and adults of all abilities and Healing Hearts staff has vast experience in education and acquisition of skills in play, language and motor/sensory. Each class emphasizes the importance of peer interaction, increasing language skills and age appropriate activities.

Our classes vary from semester to semester and involve both physical and intellectual components. In the past they have included modules on Recycling, Computers, Technology, and Legos. Currently, we offer Krav Maga (the formidable Israeli system of self-defense), Healthy Choices (Cooking/Fitness), Zumba and Sports Express just to name a few. Our classes are geared toward development of motor skills, eye/hand coordination and socialization as well as recreational.

In addition, Healing Hearts provides volunteer experiences and mentoring training for Middle and High School students in the Stamford, Greenwich, New Canaan and Darien areas. We offer internship opportunities to college students attending local colleges, studying majors related to the fields in Special Education.

Children, teens and adults with neuro-developmental difficulties are challenged in finding supportive social and recreational opportunities within Fairfield County community. Healing Hearts Recreational and Social Division strives to provide these opportunities to all individuals with various abilities.
